- Runt delays rollout because she was 'busy' all day. X
claims she was eating bonbons and watching TV.
- Because of delay, pack gets to experience heavy traffic in a
nice rain. X is not pleased, Runt smirks.
- Decision to eat at West Side Cafe in Pari at gas stop was
questionable:
- Chickenfried steak was fried but it was not steak not
any other animal product
- Goofball at table for 8 kept chanting 'the other 99
will be here soon'.
- 10 minutes in parking lot listening to local #2
describe his cast model Harley in detail. X finally rolls away
and Runt had sense to run after the
bike/stop talking.
- Mictrotel double bed actually has some room

- Runt selected route and originally had us running 165E to
Misissippi border.
- Pleasing route, 8/7/10 all had some great sections
- Going through Hot Springs and Little Rock was less than
pleasing but Runt wanted 'to see the town'
- Great BBQ at Rons' BBQ. Unfortunatley, they took no
credit (hence no receipt) and notes do
not state where the place is. Best we
could agree was some place between Mena and Little Rock.
Will go in search of again some day.
- X rebels 5 miles east of Little Rock and will not go further
into the wasteland/flatlands. Multiple trips
up and down 440/67 to find hotel and X's wine
(silly dry county). A fine Mar 07 Yellow Tail was
unearthed for 7.25 a bottle. (Mar is
much smoother than the April vintage)
- Massive hornswaggle at Western Sizzler as 'Pay $2 for a 12oz
sirloin plus full buffet' became 'here is
a tough sirloin and more buffet than you can
eat for $15'. Runt and hostess were properly punished.

- ~500 miles of lovely curves
- X is back in the role of routeplanner and he did an
outstanding job
- Endless curves, no rain, and enough tourists to create snack
opps without slowing the pace
- 14 would be great except for too many driveways.
- KFC buffet is no match for the Lost Ron's BBQ
- 9 and 16 were outstanding
- Orig plan to run up to Eureka and down towards home gets
tossed as day gets late.
- Gas shortage cause a run up to Jasper (5.1 gal in 5.5 gal tank
is a shortlived record)
- Bat rolls the 911 with a nitro bottle and then gets stalked
for many miles on 28.
- Only 'incident' of weekend occurs on nasty offcamber left
hander. Push wide or scrape means
push wide and then 'tickle'. (Tickle is
new level between standard board 1/8 in away from pavement and
sound producing scrape. Tickles are not
easy and result in Runt arm being drawn back but not swung forward)
- 'The bar is 10 miles out 270 and we have gas to get
there'. 11.5 miles out, we Uturn and crawl into
Mena. 5.39 gal is too close for
comfort. Determine Mon bar was 16 miles out.
- Sun Country Inn will not replace Limetree as hotel of choice
in Mena.
- Snarling customer at Pizza Inn said 'been waiting 45
minutes'. X/Runt are gone. "Really Good Pizza"
is a cute name for the place but does not
accuraely describe the product.
Mon
- Standard 270 mile blast home in 4.5 hour
- Raingear most of the way, screwy weather. Rain in the
sun, dry in the clouds.
Very pleasing weekend.
