Well, I guess it time to close the page on HCR this year.

We really had a Great turn out and we beat last years attendance (including the Cops) The weather held good, thanks to our local Weather Girl "Slash" and the Farmers Almanac (c/k it out WD it has worked good for the last few years) There were lots of new faces there this year, and a whole bunch of old ones. Drinks at pool every evening toped off the days rides with tales of adventure, excitement and anticipation for the next days ride. Nightly entertainment was provided by the "Wild Bunch" up stairs (Luckenbach wants there chicken back MAZ)

The pac gathered each morning in an orderly fashion promptly at 8:00 am for a flawless departure and execution of the days planed route. The 3's were once again taken by perfection as pac carved it's way through Texas Hill Country like a giant train on rails. Pac A was held Hostage shortly in Campwood by our friends the US Border Patrol in a case of mistaken identity, they were looking for a couple of Yellow and Red sport bike's coming from the other direction. Many thanks to the LOTR's this year who lead the pac's out and returned them safely home each day.

The Dark Side Ride has a couple of new members now and Big Al showed that the Nomad could hang on the Dark Side. If you didn't ride the Dark Side you probably wouldn't understand. Unfortunately some of the annual events at HCR (Wags trip through the Flowers, Vipers Flat Tire and Name the Butt Contest) will probably be canceled for next year. Sorry Guys. And as a HCR Tradition, the brick will be reworked again this year. You would think that they could get it right after 5 yrs, but hey the Beer's Cold in Luckenbach right.

Thanks to everyone that donated things for the Dinner door prizes (Wilie Dog I know what you donated, glad it's not my gig next year, he he he) Thanks to X for the great Web page. Once again VROC has came, seen and conquered the Texas Hill Country. And in closing I'll be passing on the Torch to the great Willie Dog your HCR VI organizer, go WD! See everyone at next years rally. Ride safe.

HCR V, who could have imagined that such a thing could be possible.
An event that has grown so big in such a short time. An annual rally that started with just a few friends with something incommon, the love of motorcycling and the freedom of the open road that bonds us all together. And what a better place for all this to come together than in the Texas Hill Country were the roads are great the sweepers are long and the countryside puts you in a dream like state that brings a comfort to your soul. Could this continue to grow into something that in 10 or 15 years you could look back and say I can remember when there was just a 100 people or so there, who knows but at least you can say I was there.
While your there this year take time and say thanks to some of our founding fathers of our Rally, because if it wasn't for them we would be working instead of taking the time off to go riding this year in April.
Maybe before long we can get Mama Kaw to show up and they can buy us dinner and bring some new bikes for us to demo. It looks like this could turn into something really big if it continues to grow like it has.
Don't miss out, spread the word while there is still time and make plans to be there, so let them at work know your not gonna be there cause you going to HCR!

Make sure you C/k out HCR V Schedule page for the latest changes.

Now on to the latest news

Steve "Piper"Chandler will be attending and making patches for this year event he does great work.

John "Pappy" Poynter & Geof are schedule to be taping the event this year, he does this kind of stuff for a living so it should be good. They will be doing interviews, road shots, putting everyone's names n faces together. he will be making copies of this years rally on VHS or DVD's.

He will be flying his cameraman in on the  to get things set up. I think
that this will be a great thing being able to see just what went on at this years HCR.

So see ya soon and ride safe

This is not a guy's contest.
  - All DFWVROC members/HCR V attendees are eligible to enter their butts.
So far 6 female and 11 male butts are entered (or have been entered for
   them)
  - Initial talk of prize for Cutest Butt has been voted down since that could get
   ugly.
  - All HCR V attendees (except Runt as contest co-ordinator)) are eligible
   to submit an entry form
  - Winner gets a TBD prize at HCR V
  - After review of present entries, Runt has committed $50.00 to anyone
who gets all butts correct (it ain't going to happen)
  - Contest will begin once 30 butts are submitted or on 02/01/02, whichever
   comes first.
  - Butt to name sheet will be distributed at HCR V
