Subject: [vroc-hcr] HCR IV Update # 8

We finally have the details for the Friday evening dinner.  Group got so
large that this became a real challenge but thanks to our social secretary
(Slash) with guidance from your organizer (and his advisors who shall
remain nameless until you start complaining) we have what looks to be a
pretty good setup.

Dinner at 6:30PM at the Sunday House Restaurant.  A charming German
restaurant located across the street from the Fredericksburg Lodge
(official HCR hotel).

see: http://www.sundayhouseinnandsuites.com/restaurant/index.htm

Details:
- we will have our own room (this is also good for other guests- think they
had heard of vroc)
- there will be a cash bar (and most of us are staying just across the street)
- Food will be buffet style with German stuff.  Grilled chicken and German
sausage as entrees (main meat X) - other German sides and apple strudel for
dessert.
- they are allowing us to provide our own security (bouncer) - Chewy was
volunteered
- already 40 people signed up and several known slackers expected.
- best price I could get is $15.25 per person.  (range of choices we have
been dealing with was $15-30)
- must provide the restaurant a firm count the Monday before (April 2) so
they can prepare enough stuff
- Continue email confirmations to me.  If you need to cancel, let me know
before Mon (Apr 2) or you're gonna get stuck unless someone takes your place.
- when you arrive for dinner please have your cash or check (made out to
Sunday House) ready and hand to Security (great big bald guy).

Finally, I do not know what party games are planned as X (party games dude)
is being very secretive.

This will be one of several (maybe 3) periodic updates/reminders regarding
the momentous event (HCR IV - 4th annual VROC Texas Hill Country Ride).
Thursday, April 5 thru Sunday April 8.  Fredericksburg, Texas.

Pretty much everything you need to know can be found at the web site
graciously provided by X: http://members.home.net/yutzee/hcr4.html

Check out the site for info on the great Tshirt, who is going, sign up to
go, see Wiliedog's pic (spirit of HCR), see the bricks, sample map of roads
("the 3s") and other exciting stuff.  If you are clever, this link will also
lead you Xs main page where you can see a chick in a thong.

Short history of HCR:
April '98 - a VROCer (who switched to riding a Harley), with considerable
prodding and assistance from Wiliedog and Moxy (needed to sell more lowers)
put together HCR I.  Organized rides, counting of cattle guards, eating of
mudbugs, drinking of beer and other quality activities.  Said VROCer has
only been seen once since and at last contact had switched to a Venture and
gone into the business of arming rednecks.  The rest of the crowd had such a
good time that it became an annual rite of passage.  Collection for first
brick taken - net is 50c, but they felt sorry for us and it is a slow brick
day.  Brick is screwed up for the first time.

April '99 - Coyote is goaded into putting together HCR II.  He does fine
job.  Unorganized rides ("hey everyone - let's follow Coyote" becomes
rallying cry).  Cattle guards are avoided, mudbugs are eaten, parking lot
becomes a mess, everyone but WD and one other dude go to bed, beer is drank,
collection for brick #2 results in enough $ for brick and 3 cases (chicks
did collecting this time).
Brick is laid "VORC II" - X has coniption and brick is fixed.  Coyote ends
his affiliation with dfwVROC until he realizes that nobody else likes him
either.  Afternoon brew at Luchenbach is established as new tradition.

April '00 - X is shamed into pulling together HCR III.  General feeling is
that since it is impossible to hurt X's non-existant feelings, at least
maybe we won't run off another member.  WD remembers required clean-up and
negative bank balance following last 2 years of mudbug fun and suggests
pizza in the parking lot.  Crowd moans but goes along - Some still unknown
new guy is stuck with pizza bill since collection has long since been spent
on beer.  Semi-organized rides take place - best example being the dash to
the 3s led by Bman who figures that the 2 bros with flat tires were just
running a little slow.  HCR III brick is purchased by X - by the way, he
will still be trying to collect for that this April.  More afternoon brew at
Luchenbach - which is the second right, not the first.  Brick comes out
something like vROc RHC III.

HCR IV prophesy:  Oldman is tasked with the awesome responsibility for HCR
IV.  This assures more time for brews at Luchenbach, more brews in the motel
parking lot, more semi-organized rides, fewer rules, better weather, better
bluebonnets, more brews at Luchenbach, no mud-bugs, later departure times,
more of the real work being done by others.  Oldman will undoubtedly make
the wrong turn to Luchenbach again - good opportunity for heckles.  Oldman
is comfortable being blamed for everything and can outrun anyone who gets on
his nerves so unlikely he will become ex-dfwVROCer.  X will get stuck with
the brick again.  They will screw up the brick again and X will have to fix
it.

How can you miss this?  Stay tuned for more info and get on the list.

Planning for HCR IV is in full swing.
This will be the fourth annual Hill Country Ride - a chance to get together
with VROCers, ride the best roads in Texas (yes we do have twisties), see
the sights and generally misbehave.

Dates are Thursday, April 4 thru Sunday, April 8.
Headquarters in Fredericksburg, Texas at the Fredericksburg Lodge.

This has been a great time the last 3 years and should be again.

See the official web site for info (sponsored by X):
http://members.home.net/yutzee/hcr4.html

We will semi-organized social occasions (beer and drinks in the parking
lot - maybe a group dinner), several different group rides and beer in
Luchenbach every afternoon.
