Shadow ran up to Poteau on first day and turned back. - Date - Fri 04/14 @ 8:00 AM till Sun 04/16 @ 2:00 PM => 3 days - Miles - 1242 = ~414 per day Fri: - Plano to Aurora MO - 75N, 121N, 82E, 37N, 259N, 59N, 51W, 62W, 10N, 60E - 8:00 PM to 6:00 PM - 512 miles - Rollout at 7:30 for Donuts, on the road @ 8:00. - Standard route to Idabell, standard forget to take the bypass and get to crawl through Idabell. - 259 is pleasing, 59/51 can be skipped - Shadow grubs in Poteau and turns back. - 10 is very pleasing - Standard miss 60 in Neosho, quick uturn and Runt did not even notice (much). - X forgot about the B&B in Joplin, Runt accuses him of wanting more miles. Sat - Aurora MO to Poteau OK - 60E, 14E, OS, 76E, 5S, 160W, 248S, 37S, 90W, 43S, 20W, 10S, 51 S, 59 S - 8:15 AM to 6:30 PM - 470 miles - Sigh. The Rain Gods stalked us all day. - Rollout in a light mist, head East for a day of curves - Notice that East takes us straight into the black clouds with big lightning bolts. Press on after putting on the rain gear. - Mixture of rain and wet roads drives us south towards sunshine. X hates wet curves and being passed by 20 year old farm tractors. - Now would be a good time for a GPS. Roads are still wet, rain is still falling, but now we are not sure which way road will take us. Map review clarifies run to the SE. - 160 brings dry roads and curves. Very pleasing run with 90 being especially tasty. - Rain Gods decide to sprinkle on us in full sunshine. Damps the pleasure on 10 but still good. - Push onto to Poteau, Days Inn was very new and nice. Sun - Poteau OK to Plano - 259S, Talihema Drive, 271S, 2S, 271S, 82W, 121S - 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM - 260 miles - X convinces Runt we will stop on the Trail instead of yet another picture in a parking lot. - Talihema was pleasing, rest was just miles.
